Positive: This little village is really tiny and quiet. We had planned to visit the National Park, but decided instead to stay in the village and swim. When we arrived, our hosts (who live on the same property, but in a different building) met us, and offered us beer or wine as a greeting. They have a cute little dog and a couple of cats - all the pets were super friendly. The house is adjacent to one of four restaurants in the cove, and we were hungry, so we popped over there right away. It was very good for what it was, but its menu for lunch was really limited. We had dinner at a different place (Maran), and loved it. At first we couldn’t tell how the owner felt about us, but at the end of the meal, he came and chatted with us, and offered each of us a free shot of a locally made grappa. It looks like most visitors to the cove arrive by boat, making our arrival more unique, as far as we could tell. The place had a coffee pot with coffee for us to use, a clothes washer (although we didn’t use it), and an air conditioning unit, but the AC was only in the living room, and our separate bedroom stayed too warm. The property is lush with potted plants. Overall, we’d say it was a funky little place - comfortable for a one-night stay, and clean. It was not luxurious, but the photos were accurate, overall, and we were not surprised by what we found.

Negative: First, this place is tricky to reach. You have to figure out the ferry schedule, and arrive early enough in Prapratno to ensure you get on board. (Buying a ticket is not a reservation to take your car - cars are first come first served, based on when you queue up.) We didn’t know how many cars there may be, so we queued up a bit early. Second, Google Maps is terrible in a lot of Croatia. On this island, Google literally routed us on a 4x4 jeep track over a mountain. Fortunately, once we saw what was happening - even though we had already taken some treacherous turns - we were able to back out of it and find another route. When you take the right route, the road is harrowing until you reach the village, and then it becomes … harrowing. You have to take your car down what is essentially a wide sidewalk along the water’s edge, and given we had a big van …. Oof. But it worked out. Second, given the current heat wave across Croatia, the AC had a hard time getting the whole place cool enough. Finally, while the place was clean and well stocked, it is not luxurious. (It also was not advertised as luxurious, so we are not complaining about that.)
