The small house is located directly on the sandy beach in the third row, directly on the sea. The large sandy beach is guarded in the summer by lifeguards and borders directly on the first rocks of the cliffs of the Pyrenees.
In the village there is a small general store 50 meters away, bakery, newspapers and some small restaurants.
The Mediterranean area in the southernmost part of France right on the border with Spain, with its sandy beaches and rocky coast, with the Pyrenees in the background and a diverse cultural offer.

Summary: The cottage is as described right between the beach and shops/cafes in Racou Plage, one of our favourite places on this stretch of coast. The check in was easy, we collected keys from the caretaker in one of the apartment blocks over the road and communication with the host was swift and responsive although we didn’t actually meet him. The accommodation was clean but basic and could sleep six if you used the sofa bed downstairs. However, it’s worth noting the lack of privacy as you need to go through one upstairs bedroom to get to the other which was outside off the roof terrace and quite small. Also, there was no door to screen the upstairs bedroom from anyone sleeping downstairs on the sofa bed. That didn’t bother us but might be an issue for some as might the accessibility; steep stairs and an awkward threshold to step over to get to the roof terrace and second bedroom. Having said that, the cottage is in an enviable position and we enjoyed our stay. There are plenty of options for eating out and the coastal path to Collioure right on your doorstep. It was lovely to sit outside and eat on the front terrace but if the weather is bad be aware that there is no dining table inside. The downstairs bathroom was nice with plentiful hot water in the walk in shower. Visitors need to bring their own bedding which caused us a last minute panic as it was not mentioned in the listing but Marcus was very helpful in sorting this out. Overall we loved our stay
