Positive: I stayed here twice. The first time, I had a room in the basement that got too hot when the power was out. The woman who ran the place changed me to upstairs which was much better because it had 3 windows and a better mosquito net. The woman who runs this place is amazing. She helped me in so many ways, like finding a motorbike to rent, and a boat guy to get to Rolas island. She also gave me food when the power was out in the whole neighborhood.
Negative: I stayed here a total of five nights. The main issue is that the power went out every night I was there, usually for many hours. During that time, it could get very hot and mosquitoes could be a big problem (plus this is in the malaria zone). One night it was so bad that I paid to sleep in a different hotel, which had power thanks to a generator. I think Casa de Ferias should consider getting a generator and charging more. The water also frequently didn't work, so you're taking a shower with water from bottles. The tap water is also not potable regardless of what locals say.
