Summary: We came as a group of 10 for a wedding in the Hill Country, but we wanted a place to stay in Austin, and the Rooftop Roost was a perfect fit! The place was clean and spacious and had all of the amenities we needed. Unfortunately, it was on the colder side, so we didn’t get to take much advantage of the upstairs porches, but they would be great to enjoy on a nice day, it has beautiful views! I was a little worried that the 3rd floor sleeping area was going to be very open to the rest of the house, but it was totally fine! The kitchen/living room are on the ground floor, then bedrooms on the second floor, then the third floor, so sound from the living room didn’t really carry up, and we still felt like we had our privacy. One of the perks we enjoyed was taking the quick walk to Paperboy, an outdoor breakfast and lunch restaurant, every morning. Warning that it does get popular, so don’t go if you are in a rush, but if you have the time to enjoy it, they have fantastic breakfast! In terms of location, it was easy to get around. You could walk to downtown if you wanted (20-30 min), but we usually took a short Uber ride (around $7 - $8) which worked out really well. To get out to the hill country the rides were around $35 - $40. We would definitely stay here again if we came to Austin, and our only regret is that we didn’t get to spend more time in the house because we were so busy with wedding activities!
