Summary: Well...I start by saying there was a power outage when we arrived in the afternoon, it went many hours and our dinner booking with friends was shifted to their sister hotel. But I am told by my local friends that power outages are common in this part of England, so I didnt count this as a hotel maintenance issue. When I booked they only had Neville suite left, it seemed expensive for a room, but it has a whole separate entertaining room with a dining table, sofa and fireplace (I must have missed the pictures!). It was a gorgeous suite with a large light filled bathroom (lucky as no power :) ). The breakfast was delightful olde English atmosphere, people were quite well dressed for breakfast! Out the back was a grass field with croquet, the bar would have been lovely to have an intimate drink but closed due to lack of power. It was very lovely and I wished the power didnt come back on so we could stay in a manor by candlelight...but back on due to generator arriving before we returned from our dinner at the Golf Club. The stff were very informative and proactive in rearranging things , much appreciated.
