Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The Location of the Hotel is exceptional, spacious rooms, accesible and a lake view. Large guest parking, pool and clean beach. The breakfast was ok but very good service overall. Nice and helpful staff. At noon we ate lunch on the restaurant terrace and the meal was delicius.

Negative: It seems like they’ve given up on maintaining the old part of the hotel. Unfotunately for me that’s where I was accommodated. The room was large with a spacious terrace overlooking the lake, but the room itself was in a decay. The tiles on the terrace were broken and wobely, there was one functioning electric plug behind the armchair and inside a spiderweb, the heating radiator was supported on a peace of wooden block, the roof was leaking (it rained that evenning) and the suspended ceiling was water damaged from before. The door in the bathroom was slowly rotting away and the shower rod was broken. There was a stray cat and kitens roaming freely from one balcony to the other … all this in a single room In all honesty the told me “the room is in the old part” but that statement has different meaning for me, obviously they were hinting. Someone would call this room charming but paying almost 50euros in return for this is blatantly rude. Did I mention that there is a new part of the hotel for the same price… at least I think it’s the same prace. Be sure to ask to be accomodated in the new part, at least see the room beforehand.

Summary: Ohrid, charming as always.
