Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The furnishings were a little dated but clean; the apartment had an indigenous theme which was really lovely. It had a full kitchen with a pod coffee machine so a real step up from what one usually finds in apartments and the coffee was great. The bathroom had a shower over the bath rather than a separate shower, but the water pressure was great. There was a washing machine in the bathroom which was clean and is always useful. The views from the living room and the second bedroom were spectacular and it's central to the CBD so very handy with lots of public transport. There was free parking which is a real bonus. The receptionist was very helpful even though the apartment is not managed by the Mantra, and the cafe/bar (Hats on Queens) on the ground floor was nice. The keys were in a lockbox that was available 24/7 which would be very useful if one was arriving late at night or early morning. The instructions to pick up the keys were clear.
Negative: We had a little difficulty trying to find the hotel to begin with but found it was an apartment in the Mantra Hotel. Once we worked that out it was easy to find. The parking was free but, it was so tight that it was very stressful parking the car. A small car, like a Toyota Corolla or a VW Golf would have no difficulty but parking a midsize sedan or SUV like a Rav 4 would be very tight. The cafe was not open at night for dinner, but we weren't there for the weekend so it may be open then. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so not an issue and there's a Woolies around the corner.
