Built in 1955, this mid-century homestead has been reimagined as a tranquil desert hideaway. From the footprint and polished concrete flooring to the retrofitted beams, many of the home's original elements were preserved. Reclaimed, restored, and hand-made furniture from all over the world has been curated for your escape from the stressful city life.
Wabi Sabi House is located on a quiet 2.5 acre lot at the edge of a small neighborhood. The home only has one neighboring property with ample space in between. There is a solid wooden dividing wall at the very far end of the property for extra privacy and the neighboring property is not visible.
Nestled away but not out of reach of local amenities and attractions. 8 miles from the Joshua Tree National Park west entrance and 3 miles from the 62 highway main strip and town. Access to the property includes both paved and unpaved dirt roads that any car can access safely.

We do not allow smoking, vaping, parties/events, or pets on the property.
Guest access:
Guests will be able to enjoy the entire property. There is a locked utility closet in the master bedroom and a locked outdoor maintenance shed in the backyard which guests will not have access to.
Security Cameras:
Cameras monitor the front entryway, driveway, carport and rear of the carport for insurance and safety purposes. These cameras do not record audio and the footage is deleted at regular intervals for your privacy. There are no cameras or recording devices inside the home, any interior space, or backyard outdoor living space. There are alarm contact sensors on the doors and a motion sensor in the living room that will not be active during your stay. These sensors do not have any recording capability.
Maintenance Services:
There may be maintenance, landscaping, or cleaning staff that may require access to the property during your stay. Cleaning staff will access the car port gate to take trash bins outside on Thursdays and return them once empty on Fridays.
Security Deposits:
Deposits may be withheld in part or whole if any of the house rules are violated or property damaged during your stay. Legal action may also be pursued if any violations or damages exceed the security deposit.
Plumbing and Trash:
Homes in Joshua Tree are plumbed with a septic tank system. Please only flush toilet paper to help avoid any plumbing issues. If it is determined that any issues arise due to misuse, a $200 fee may be charged or the security deposit withheld to repair it. Please use designated trash and recycle bins located next to the car port.
Desert Wildlife:
Joshua Tree is home to diverse wildlife and insects. Rabbits freely roam the surrounding area and there have been rare sightings of snakes, ants, and spiders. Please do not leave home doors open for extended periods of time and do not feed the wildlife.
Liability:
Your reservation and all those who stay during your reservation (The Guest) agree and release The Host from all liability from any and all injury and property damage that may occur during your stay. Your reservation acknowledges your usage of any amenities provided, the jacuzzi, outdoor bath, outdoor shower, firepit, BBQ grill, suspended patio chairs, operation of the outdoor gates on property is done at your own risk. You accept all responsibility for any bodily injury that may occur while on the property.
