Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: After a stormy ride with a lot of rain, we arrived at King Baobab lodge. We were kindly welcomed by the lady at the reception and were offered bissap (small gestures we really like). Due to the heavy rainfall the initial booked room was having some leakage problems, but the staff suggested to switch rooms immediately. Which was really nice. The AC was working accordingly. The diner (3 courses) and breakfast was lovely and the drinks at the bar are super affordable! We enjoyed the pool and the lovely wooden bridge towards the beach. The hotel has it own beach area with sunbeds, which is nice!
Negative: As we arrived a little bit late at the diner table (around 19h30), it felt like some dishes of the menu were already prepared to much in advance. For example, the entree (calamares) was unfortunately cold when they were served. I assume that due to the cloudy days and heavy rainfall, the solar heating for hot water was not working as it used to be so the shower was not super hot. As the room provided a coffee machine (working with cups), I was missing the coffee cups although teabags were there. Suggestion for the staff to include cups or replace them with coffee sticks/bags.
