Positive: The environment is nice, facing the creek but located just outside the village, with the main road audible from the camp, so it does not feel completely secluded in the bush. The creek is great for cooling down when the tide is high and pleasant for walking around when it recedes. Because the water in the creek is salty, there are far fewer mosquitoes than you might expect. The surroundings are also pleasant, especially for birdwatchers. The tents are comfortable, although prolonged power cuts can be annoying when they occur, though this is outside the hosts’ control. The hosts offer advice on the birds and nature in the area, and you can also take a nature walk or a boat tour around the creek for an additional fee. The breakfast, as well as the Gambian dishes offered for lunch or dinner at an additional charge, is very good.
Negative: Given that the place was established relatively recently and is still developing, the host goes the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable, although this can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming when you simply want to relax on your own. Payment was also a bit of a hassle: my arrival was delayed because the host waited for the transfer to reach her account, despite having received the transfer confirmation beforehand.
