Welcome! With a spectacular view of the world's second largest Barrier Reef. Las Amapolas is tucked among coconut palm trees and a white sandy beach. Las Amapolas is in a secluded beach which was once an old coconut grove (El Cocal) about 4.5 miles north of San Pedro Town, on the Mata Grande Area of Ambergris Caye. It is a 30 minute ride on golf cart to San Pedro Town. The road can be bumpy sometimes due to pot holes. Las Amapolas (386 sq. ft.), features a private balcony, a king size bed, with beach-chic furnishing. It's a fusion of simplicity, nature and comfort - BAREFOOT LUXURY and Naturally Beautiful.

San Pedro Town has a Caribbean/Mexican lifestyle and is bustling in activities during the day. Visitors can enjoy and experience the island cuisine at one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars in town. Or just simply enjoy watching the locals going about their daily chores.

Power outages are not uncommon on Ambergris Caye. We at Las Amapolas do our best to ensure that whenever this happens you are still comfortable. Please note that whenever the power goes out water is still available in your ‘room. We also provide you with an emergency light for your use if the power goes out at night. The service is usually restored within a couple of hours . The power outages are out of our control. The Belize Electricity Limited the provider of electricity here in Belize should have this problem solve soon.

Summary: Las Amapolas delivered as promised. If you are looking for a cozy, well-equipped place to base your Ambergris Caye vacation from and away from the crowd, this is it. The location is lovely, right on the beach. The deck was the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee and the beautiful sunrises, and to listen to the surf breaking over the barrier reef. We divided our meals between eating / cooking in and dining out. The kitchen area is small and so efficiency is the watchword. There are lovely restaurants a short walk down the beach in either direction and some lovely local stores for fresh fruit and veggies, baked goods and other necessities. Our excellent host Gach Guererro was very attentive to our needs and comfort and an all-round gentleman. It all made for a wonderful and very relaxing two weeks.
