Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The rooms are quiet, private and very central. We literally did not see another person in or about the accommodation rooms. This is not an hotel, there are no staff around. Generally acceptably clean. The kitchen area had a microwave, kettle, sink and fridge, all quite adequate. The positioning in town is excellent and the river Trent running through is lovely, the big church and the parks are well worth visit.

Negative: The stairs to the top floor are potentially hazardous for those who find stairs difficult. The front door feels very heavy, just push... hard. Our bath in Essington was unheated and cold but the rootop bathtub was fun and the water hot ( took ages to run) Bring your own tea; the supply offered is meagre and disappointing. The internet and tv reception can be sporadic.

Summary: Newark is well worth a visit; but 31 is not a hotel and I'm not sure we will go again.
