Suzhou city is a famous garden city in the world. Many tourists around the world come here everyday for sightseeing. It is popular, you will love it! Originally founded in 514 BCE, Suzhou has over 2,500 years of rich history, and relics of the past are abundant to this day. The city's canals, stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens have contributed to its status as one of the top tourist attractions in China. Since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), it has also been an important centre for China's silk industry. The classical gardens in Suzhou were added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997 and 2000. Suzhou is often dubbed the " Venice of the East " or "Venice of China".
Suzhou City is very near to Shanghai, it is called "paradise on earth" by its beautiful scene, changes all times. From Shanghai to Suzhou only need 25 minutes by high speed train. The house is located in Gusu District, all city center is called Gusu District in Suzhou, it is near to several famous sightseeing spots.
During your travelling, if you choose my house, I think it is convenient for you to visit both Shanghai and Suzhou, also very near to Wuxi City, also easy to go to Nanjing, Hangzhou city etc.
During your stay, you will be free to join our family dinner if you like and try traditional Chinese cooking, if you like it, you could have dinner with us every night for free. Many guests like it very much. Staying with us, you really could get a better understanding of the Chinese culture.
If you want to go to Beijing, there are many bullet trains per day from Suzhou to Beijing, it's only 5 hours by train, very fast and convenient, if you want to save money, you also could book the night train from Suzhou to Beijing, around 11 hours, in the morning you could arrive at Beijing. I could help you to book the tickets. Sometimes the train tickets are tight to sell so I will be happy to help you to buy them without any extra charge if I do this.
Shanghai is a modern city, there are many shopping malls. For a foreign visitor, in my opinion, the main sightseeing spots to see are: Shanghai Bund, Shanghai Museum and East Pearl TV Tower, Chenghuang Temple. I am also very familiar with Shanghai, I stayed there for 8 years, so that I can give you information you may need. Comparing with Shanghai, Suzhou is a tourist city, there are many foreign tourists who come here everyday. In China, there is a saying "In the heaven, there is the beautiful paradise"; in the earth, there is beautiful Suzhou & Hangzhou. Suzhou is the typical southern Chinese riverside town. I think 1 day trip from Suzhou to Shanghai is enough in my opinion.
The Suzhou city is definitely worth it for sightseeing because there are many more beautiful famous sightseeing spots. Such as Tiger Hill, Lingering Garden, Hanshan Temple, Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, Guanqian Street, Stone Road, Shantang Street, Jinji Lake, Tai Lake. The canal is also very beautiful, you could sit on a ship and enjoy the night canal scene, very cheerful.
The house is very close to Hanshan Temple and Maple Bridge Scenic, the Tang Dynasty poet named Zhangji wrote a very famous poem about the Hanshan Temple and Maple bridge. It takes only 15-20 minutes on foot to Han Shan Temple.
One of China's famous four Gardens----Lingering Garden, is very close too, it takes about 5-8 minutes by bus or 25 minutes to walk. Many tourists like this garden, inside of this garden, there are also many free ancient music instrument performances, very nice!
A famous Song Dynasty poet, Su Dongpo once said, "It is a lifelong pity to have gone to Suzhou without a visit to Tiger Hill." From the house, It takes 15 minutes to go there by a direct bus. Tiger Hill is famous for the Lean Tower, as similar as the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. If you like walking, you could go by walk, need around 30-35 minutes from home.
Nearby the house there is a transit hub station, there are a lot of bus lines. 5 minutes to the train station. At the same time, it is very convenient for you to visit many other spots, such as the stone Road Pedestrian Street, Guan Qian Walk Street, Humble Administrator's Garden, the Lion Grove Garden etc, easily and fast.
There are many airport buses everyday from Shanghai Airport directly to Suzhou city, which can take you from Suzhou to Shanghai Pudong airport or Hongqiao Airport very easily. If you want to travel easily with luggage, you also could choose the airport bus to Suzhou instead of train and subway.
After check-in, you will see our specially made map for famous sights on your room table. I also could make the best tourist plan for your reference. For different sightseeing places, I will give you the bus route both in Chinese and English. You can show it to the bus driver, they will let you get off the bus on arrival. I think in your whole trip, you could save a lot of taxi fees. Smile...Besides, I will arrange some time at night or on weekends to accompany you to visit some good spots and also some free sightseeing, which you never find in the travelling guides, smile...I will also prepare a phone for you to use, when you need my help outside, you could call me. If you want to explore Suzhou and have much courage to go by bike in China, you could use our bikes for free. But a lot of guests, they are scared of traffic in China and would rather go by bus or walk in China.
Around the house, there are many restaurants, for different tastes in China, the coffee shop, milk shop, big supermarket—Carrefour, banks etc many other small supermarkets nearby, It is very easy for you to buy daily stuff. I will recommend you some shops according to your taste.
Inside of house, the floor is imported from the Germany, it is a cork flooring, very soft underfoot, really comfortable. However please protect it carefully, please don't drip water and other liquid on the floor, if happens, please clean it immediately. Thank you.
Bedding, towels and other toiletries are frequently replaced. For cleaning, please feel free to use disinfectant. Shampoo is a well-known brand, Sunsilk, bees and flowers. Room comes with free internet and also supports mobile wireless Internet access. We have computers for you to use randomly. The house has a 55 inch big TV, you could watch 3D movies at home, or many other foreign movies on TV. Besides we also can provide free laptop computers for you to watch movies, you are welcome to choose from my DVD collection, including Chinese and Foreign movies etc.
The breakfast is very good and rich. There are some Chinese traditional foods like dumplings, steam bread etc. milk, fruit, porridge, yogurt, Chinese pie, eggs, etc, I assure you you will like the taste...However, if you don't like Chinese food, we also have bread and cereal etc.

Remarks: The apartment is on 6th floor, there is no lift. In China, all buildings equal or below 7th floor have no lifts. But don't worry, we could help you to carry your luggage upstairs, for us it is easy. When you arrive, you could press 603 by the side of the glass security gate to ring me, we will come down to help you.
