The Back Narrows Social Club is your Damariscotta river-view retreat for a sumptuous and relaxing mid-coast Maine vacation! This unique property was actually the town social club in the 1930โs! In the โ70โs it became a mainstay of the Boothbay YMCA before being divided into two residential apartments in the 1980โs.
The location is minutes to area attractions like the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Maine State Aquarium, and the Boothbay Harbor, yet the Social Club is removed from the bustle of tourist noise, allowing guests to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Our dock in the Damariscotta River is a short walk around a bend in the street and down a neighborโs driveway. You will have access to launch your kayaks, tie up your boat, or just dip your toes in the water and watch for seals!
The kitchen is fully equipped, including specialty lobster and oyster utensils. There's plenty of seating and space for dining and relaxing after a day of fun. Outside you will find a grill downstairs, and you can enjoy the river view while dining on the upstairs deck.
The bedroom features a queen sized bed with a "green tea foam" mattress. The futon in the living room also folds out to a full sized bed.
The living room features a smart-TV, as well as some books and games for you to enjoy during your stay. Sorry, no cable.
Please note that this property is not air conditioned. Due to the mild summers, absence of a/c is common in the region. If it gets warm, you can get a good cross breeze by opening the windows. We also provide fans.
