Summary: Approaching the house is like entering a dream world. Like coming to the set of a 17th/18th century movie. The house - a renovated chapel next to a farm and castle - was luxury, with floor heating, kitchen equipment including dishwasher, microwave and oven. It has a lot of space and has been furnished tastefully, rustically. Unfortunately a fire cannot be lit in the impressive historical fireplace. There are seven comfortable beds, there is a bath upstairs, a shower on the ground floor and two toilets. In the living room there's a billiard table and outside a table-tennis table under the shelter and carport. At the south side of the building lies a sunny terrace with table and chairs and a spacy garden with grass to play on. The absence of wifi can be boring for kids, though. The owner, Raoul, is very kind and committed and contact through mail and phone was pleasant. The exact location was hard to find, for it has no clear address. The driving lane to the farm can be found along the D 513, next to the entrance of the chateau de Bénéauville. Bavent lies in the vicinity (about 5-10 kms) of the beautiful beaches of Franceville and Cabourg, summer resorts for the affluent with luxury 19th century villas, supermarkets and nice boutiques. The same distance separates Bavent from Ranville (Pegasusbridge), Ouistreham (bunkers) and Merville (gun battery WW2).
