Summary: Overall the house was a good. Great location if you are interested in visiting downtown Old Forge without having to drive many places. Our only real issue was when we sat out on the porch, the neighbor with the fenced in yard was witnessed often saying weird things to passers-by, including some not nice comments towards one set of individuals. Overall, great place for to stay to visit the tourist side of the Adirondacks. Recommendation for those who stay: you may need a few more kitchen items as the kitchen is fairly stocked with cooking needs, but doesn't quite have a complete set of standard kitchen/cooking ware. The front door off of the porch the bottom lock, locks but the top deadbolt does not. The interior door off of the mudroom does not have a key that lets you in if you lock that when you are not in the home. Good options for internet, etc... to provide for the rainy days and later evenings. Two of the three rooms had AC upstairs which was nice for those who had the AC. Shower was good, hot water lasted for four individuals to get a quick shower one after the other. Parking can be a little tight and be cautious if you need to back out as traffic can become a little tough. Be aware that Old Forge as a lot of businesses that even during the height of tourist season, close at 5p. The Vrbo hosts were easy to get in contact with and helpful with all questions. Having availability to do laundry on-site was very helpful with two kids along for the trip. Nice place.
