Positive: We stayed at Villa Eva in Mauritius for a week and found the experience to be mixed. The location is peaceful and the villa itself is spacious with a nice garden and beachfront, which was definitely a plus. However, there were several issues that affected our stay. In summary, Villa Eva has potential due to its location and layout, but improvements are definitely needed in terms of maintenance, hospitality, and basic amenities to make it a truly comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
Negative: First, cleanliness was not up to standard. And to our disappointment, there wasn’t even a bottle of drinkable water provided upon arrival — something we expected as a basic courtesy. In general there was a lack of attention to smaller details like toiletries or fresh towels and not to mention all. Be aware that having a car is absolutely essential here. There is no way to get around or access shops or restaurants without one. While the area is surrounded by resorts, don’t be misled — those are not easily accessible for outside guests, and booking a table can be very difficult. This left us with limited options for dining, which was frustrating. Communication with the host was adequate but not particularly responsive, and overall, the property feels like it could use more attention and care — both in terms of cleanliness and guest support.
