Positive: The room was a good size with all the basics you need in the kitchen and bath. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. Everything was good, but not exceptional in any way. The area felt safe and was quiet even on King's Day. Access to public transit was reasonably close (5 minute walk to most of the key tram lines and a metro). If you want to go to the zoo or the botanical gardens they are very close.

Negative: We traded off price for centrality with this hotel and it did make a difference. You had to walk an additional 10+ minutes to get to the action which did add up over the week we stayed in Amsterdam. Also, we were in the furthest section of the hotel which meant walking through two courtyards every time you went to your room. This was a bit of a pain. Finally, you could also hear the people walking around upstairs.

Summary: Solid option for a suite if you don't mind an extra walk
