Things to Know Before You Visit Blue Ridge

Blue Ridge, Georgia is a small town located in the North Georgia mountains about 30 minutes south of downtown Chattanooga. With an elevation of 2,178 feet at the center of town it offers cool summer nights and beautiful fall leaves. As part of the Chattahoochee National Forest, there are plenty of things to do in Blue Ridge.

Fall is one of the most beautiful times to visit Blue Ridge with leaves changing colors in autumn. There are many hiking trails to check out and other outdoor activities one might enjoy during fall. You can easily find a trailhead with a view of the valley below from the parking lot of Unicoi State Park located on GA-17 North. Just follow the signs to the parks swimming area and youll find a large pull-off parking area on your right.

Winter is great for taking advantage of Blue Ridges ski resorts or tubing in nearby McCaysville, GA. If skiing isnt for you, there are plenty of activities you can do along with shopping at the Tanger Outlet center located in the center of town.

The summer months are perfect for hiking and swimming at Unicoi State Park. There are also many great hiking trails just north of town that provide an excellent view of the North Georgia Mountains. Be sure to also check out all the local shops and restaurants during your visit. On the first Friday of every month, shop owners stay open late and offer discounts and specials you cant find any other time of the month.
