Bryson City is a small town located in the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina, right alongside the Swain County seat. Bryson Citys main road, Everett Street, stretches from end to end and hosts much of the attractions that make this town special. One can travel up and down Everett St. for hours on end to enjoy all that there is to see and do in Bryson City.

Bryson City is home to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, the most visited tourist train attraction in North Carolina, and it is where North Carolinas newest national park, The Great Smoky Mountain National Park started. This European style village was built in 1988 by the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad and is now home to several shops, a restaurant, and an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. All of the buildings in this village were imported from New England and reconstructed brick by brick here in Bryson City.

Just down Everett St. from the European Village, you will find the Tuckaseigee River and the train depot. The Tuckaseigee River flows through the center of Bryson City and is used by many for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, tubing, and more. A walk down to this area at dusk allows you to hear the gentle lapping of the water against the rocks.
