Summary: As soon as we walked in, we knew we were in for a wonderful week. We all said, โ€œWow!โ€ (really!) The view, the immersion in nature, the solitude, and the soothing atmosphere were just what we were looking for. The cottage had everything we needed โ€“ especially in the kitchen โ€“ and we took advantage of the patio grill often with food purchased at the local butcher shop/market (the pork slouvaki โ€“ yum!.) We took advantage of everything the property and surrounding area had to offer. We started each day with a relaxing sauna and ended most evenings sitting by the outdoor firepit. We used the canoe, paddleboard and kayak during our week โ€“ easily paddling upstream. Several times along the way we were greeted by loons and once by a swimming chipmunk! During our stay, we hiked/walked to nearby falls, travelled into Bracebridge, and discovered even more falls to enjoy. We spent a day at Algonquin Provincial Park, well worth the 90-minute drive. We spent other days finding small parks with swimming areas for our water-loving dog along Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau shores. We visited several farmerโ€™s markets in the area (the Muskoka River Smoked Trout โ€“ more yum!). At night we enjoyed the clear, dark sky and photographed a myriad of stars in the bog area - a short walk down the road. If youโ€™re looking for a getaway in a peaceful, quiet, gorgeous setting - this is the place for you.
