Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Coming back to Blarcreen in the evening felt like returning home. After a day of exploring, it was wonderful to sink into the sofa in front of the fire, savor a wee dram, and swap travel stories with fellow guests. We loved that guests were encouraged to wander the grounds — with wellies thoughtfully waiting by the door — and to truly make the place their own. Dierdre and David were exceptional hosts, offering insights and recommendations that went far beyond the usual restaurant lists. Thanks to their warmth and local knowledge, we experienced Oban and the surrounding area in a way we never could have on our own.
Negative: Blarcreen may seem too far outside of a town for some - but we enjoyed taking different routes to and from the house and would probably have been happy to never leave at all.
Summary: Perfect way to end our two weeks in Scotland!
