Summary: Unfortunately, the hotel has gone down over the last few years. The decor is outdated, the curtains, carpet and headboard had stains on them. We paid for an upgrade to a club room, but when we got to the room, it was quickly apparent that it was not a club room as most of the extras were missing. We were given another room when we complained, but the only view we had for 2 nights was of the carpark. When we left the door hanger on asking for a refresh, all we got was towels, the tea and coffee and water (we were in the middle of a heatwave) was not refreshed, so we had nothing to drink on the 2nd day of the stay. We decided to have a meal in the restaurant on the second evening. When we went down, we were told it was the bar menu only. After ordering and paying, we sat at our table and I put my hand on the banister. When I took it off, I was covered in dust. We then noticed that most things were covered in dust. Really bad in a restaurant. The starters were great, and my main was great, however my wifes fish was totally overwhelmed with greasy batter and tasted slightly off, and her chips were overcooked, so we sent it back and we were offered a replacement, but she didn't feel like she could eat anything else from there. So that was a waste of money. The staff in the hotel are great, and friendly. I have never written a review before, but felt it important for others to see. The hotel needs major updating and deep cleaning. Sorry, we will not be going back again.
