The Woods is owned and managed locally right here in Canadian Lakes, MI about 15 minutes from Big Rapids. We cater to everything from quick overnight stays, to long term rentals. With being so close to Big Rapids and Ferris State University, this is a great location to stay for all of the events that Ferris has to offer. The Woods isn't just a place to stay - it's a place to make memories. We have two buildings, both of which have been completely remodeled, but each with their own interior touches. With one building being called "The Lodge" and the other "The Retreat", we wanted to make sure that both buildings were comfortable, but also gave our guests a choice in not only the bedding options but also in the overall vibe. Summary: I think this is a rental best suited for men there for golfing. It was clean. The beds were fine, shower was lovely. The kitchen had just minimal stuffโ€ฆ you wouldnโ€™t want to plan to prepare much here. There was no dishwasher detergent and zero kitchen linens. Only giant garbage bagsโ€ฆ nothing that fit any of the garbage receptacles there. A tiny amount of hand soap and one tiny shower product, not that we expected that but usually there is more. Living room furniture a bit stained and beat up. Throw pillows shredded on one side. It is quite small. Two bedrooms. The couch looks like it pulled out but given the fact that if you pulled it out there would be absolutely zero living space I donโ€™t think Iโ€™d advertise it for more than 4 people. The property is within Canadian Lakes and as a guest we could use โ€œall the amenities โ€œโ€ฆ. If you could find them as my husband said. The book listed them all but there was nothing to indicate where anything was. Jessica was quick to answer our calls, โ€œwhere are the hiking trails?โ€ But even her office that she directed us to didnโ€™t have anything. No one anywhere seemed to know where these trails were. It felt a bit off putting and unwelcoming to be honest. Bizarre. Glad we were here for a graduation party. Itโ€™s not a place to hang out but a great place to sleep.
