Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Wifi and water worked ok, the beds were ok and the staff helpful. We found a genuinely nice food place by this side of the river with local dishes at local prices. Wouldn’t have found it if we staid on the other side.
Negative: Cockroaches and moldy smell. In our first room we caught 8 live cockroaches and two ran away (because we ran out of equipment to catch them). We reported the issue and got a new room. In the new room (on another floor) we only found 3 alive and 3 dead, which was a significant improvement, so we staid in that room. Also the smell wasn’t so dominant on that floor. Also, when we asked the receptionists to call us a ride (Grab doesn’t work in this town at all), they took almost 15% of the total (long af) ride price to themselves (200k from 1.5mil), which was a bit excessive imo, but what can we tourists do. The ride itself was good.
Summary: Ok, if you don’t mind cockroaches. I would prefer the otger side of the river next time.
