Jade in the Wilderness offers a refreshing retreat in the form of a tiny house in Taiwan. The cozy stay is a distinctive getaway for nature lovers. Jade in the Wilderness is in the rural locality of Dahu township, a scenic 1-hour drive from Taichung City. The site features campgrounds and a strawberry camping area. Guests can enjoy fruit picking with seasonal offerings such as citrus and kumquat, and even partake in firefly-guided camping events. Nearby attractions include Dahu Strawberry Farm, Guang Sheng Old Street, Longteng Bridge, Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum, and the striking landscapes of Huoyanshan.
A comfortable accommodation of approx. 155 square feet is set in one of the best tiny house rentals and serene locations with abundant natural bushland, easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities.
The bathroom, however, follows ecologically sustainable principles, including an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers). It focuses on satisfying people's needs with natural resources and processes to save water by using eco-friendly toilets to save the environment.

Jade in the Wilderness is nestled in the rural locality of Dahu Township, an hour's drive from Taichung City. This region allows visitors to engage directly with the environment. It features a firefly-guided camping experience and fruit picking directly from the trees. Close to a river, it supports eco-tours and active adventures in the nearby bamboo forest and mountain trails. Here, nature is an active participant in every visit.
Our local recommendations:
-Dahu Strawberry Farm (大湖草莓果園) is the largest in the area. With raised planting beds perfect for children, it offers easy strawberry picking. The park includes a big store selling strawberry products and a cozy area for relaxation.
-Guang Sheng Old Street (廣盛老街) features vibrant mural art adorning the area. Community maps pinpoint public artworks celebrating Guangsheng, Sanyi Township, and Hakka culture.
-Longteng Bridge (龍騰斷橋) alongside Shengxing Station, ranks among the top attractions on the Jiushan tour route. It's a significant historical site known for its elegance and as a tribute to two earthquakes that damaged it twice.
-Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum (三義木雕博物館) showcases unique, personalized artworks, featuring continuous creative explorations across various themes. Visitors can admire these remarkable pieces, alongside wood sculptures from around the globe.
- Huoyanshan (火炎山) fiery-red slopes are a distinctive landmark for drivers between Taichung and Miaoli, earning their name from their unique hue. It's an ideal spot for hiking.

Pet Guidelines:
- Pets are not allowed to use the towels provided in the tiny house
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas and clean after your pet’s droppings
- If you bring a pet, please write it in the booking form and inform us in advance
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out courtesy of other guests
- If the pet barks excessively, the owner should try to stop it so as not to disturb other tenants.
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- Pets cannot be left alone in the stay. If you leave the tiny house, please take your pet with you.
- There is no charge for bringing pets. However, if items are damaged or dirty due to pets, additional fees will be charged depending on the situation.
Campground Rules:
- Please call us in advance if you check in over time. If you check in overtime without calling us in advance, no refunds or reservations will be made.
- Please provide identification documents or passports upon check-in for check-in.
- Alcohol, chewing betel nuts, setting off firecrackers, high-decibel audio equipment, partying, drug taking, gambling, and other illegal activities are strictly prohibited. If found, the police will be dealt with.
- To maintain environmental quality, fires are only allowed in designated areas within the camp.
Important note:
- Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our cassette toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
