Summary: We typically LOVE the Cottonwood. It is a family favorite, but there were a few missteps this time that were kind of a bummer and didn't make us sad to leave this time. First, the pool bar staff seemed less than thrilled to be there and overwhelmed easily. Rather than walking around getting food/drink orders during down time, they did their best to ignore guests and stayed at the back of the bar whenever they could. It didn't matter how much we tipped, the service remained the same. Our second day, there were no pool towels at the pool until after 2:00pm. The pool staff only provided towels to those who paid for a cabana. Otherwise, they spent their time leaning on the counter and ignoring the other guests. Finally, our air conditioning was very cold, but incredibly LOUD all night long. It kept myself and my kids up all throughout the night. Our favorite staff members were the manager who helped us get new drinks, the Orleans Room bartender who made fabulous drinks, and the valet attendant.
