Positive: I had a brilliant four day stay at La Ghita. Hjalmar was an exceptional host and a really nice guy. It was a real pleasure to chat and enjoy some good games of darts in the garden! It’s a charming property and everything is impeccably clean. The room was great, the shower excellent and the bed very comfy. The balcony was also a lovely place to relax and enjoy the birdsong (especially the dawn chorus if you’re up early!) La Ghita makes a good location to explore both Ceresole Reale and the Coll del Nivolet, plus Valle Soana - I hiked around both areas. It’s a stunningly beautiful part of Gran Paradiso & I had some amazing encounters with Ibex, plus saw a myriad of Chamois and Marmots. You’ll also have a strong likelihood of seeing Golden Eagle - I even spotted a juvenile Lammergeier at 2600m in Valle Soana! Hjalmar also makes a delicious cake!
