Positive: We booked La Terrazza sull'Umbria for 3 main reasons: 1. We enjoy spending our evenings in charming small towns with historic character, narrow streets, and architecture that reflects the past, especially after visiting tourist-heavy areas; 2. Its relatively central location in Umbria, ideal for day trips; 3. The terrace photo on the Booking listing. Once there, our expectations were fully exceeded. Communication with Michela and Roberta was excellent, and their recommendations for sights and restaurants were very helpful. The house is delightful and perfectly suited for a group of six, with a well-equipped kitchen and two bathrooms (a real plus for our group). The terrace was our favorite place: we started our mornings there with coffee and ended our days enjoying the stunning views over the Umbrian hills and valleys. The village itself, Collazzone, sits on a hill and features medieval architecture and stone houses typical of Umbria and Tuscany. Its location is excellent for day trips within 100 km. You can visited Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Spoleto, Trevi, Bevagna, Montefalco, Orvieto, Lake Trasimeno, and Città della Pieve. For those willing to drive a bit more, it’s also possible to visit Civita di Bagnoregio (100 km), Montalcino in Tuscany (125 km), and the Sibillini Mountains (130 km). In Collazzone, there’s a restaurant with a typical Umbrian menu, the truffle steak and truffle pasta were our favorites. In conclusion, we enjoyed two full and relaxing days at La Terrazza sull'Umbria, which offered the comfort of a modern stay, breathtaking views from the terrace, all in an authentic medieval town within a region full of opportunities. During our 20-day trip through Central Italy, we stayed in six beautiful places, but La Terrazza sull'Umbria was the one that truly stayed in our hearts. Thank you for your hospitality and for the wine (we only tasted it once we got home)! We hope to return in the future!
