Positive: Clean and comfortable, clearly a very loved family home
Negative: The lock works via a code that let us in but didnโ€™t work after that, so we had to call the management company who gave us a code for another lock to collect a spare key. Which took about half an hour of our time before we could leave as we wouldnโ€™t leave the property unlocked. The owner called us at 8pm to advise someone would be round to cut some bushes at 7:30am, no issue, but she then called us again at 7am waking us up. There is a huge folder outlining rules for the stay right down to photos of where to put things back when theyโ€™ve been used and book/ DVDs in alphabetical order (to be put back this way too) . Signs make it clear what cushions/ pillows you can and canโ€™t use. It felt slightly overbearingโ€ฆ we have stayed in air bnbs all around the world and are always respectful but this one felt like we were staying in someoneโ€™s home for free as a favour, not that weโ€™d paid almost $550 usd for the 2 nights. It almost felt like we were not trusted to be there :( That being said the home is very clearly loved and looked after, and the owner was lovely when we spoke to them, we just wish we didnโ€™t feel so monitored even through the extensive instructions and signs around the home.
