Positive: Property is in a beautiful setting. The hosts are very friendly, they speak English & they are very welcoming. When we arrived (a bit later than expected!), we were welcomed by a chocolate Labrador – she was so happy, like it was our own dog! – no idea how they trained her to do that ;) but she stole our hearts from the very beginning. Once we got inside this lovely apartment, we had a surprise of a pizza, beer & local, amazing gherkins :) Everything was so clean, and the kids had colourful bed linen prepared for them & generally everything was just better than we expected. Our kids loved the surrounding nature, horses, alpacas & most of all THE playground :) A hint for meat lovers planning to stay there: every apartment has its own great quality BBQ grill with a special powerful burner for STEAKS :) and we found this A M A Z I N G beef from local farmer Jörg Dommel (Hoflanden), located in a village nearby – Dorfstraße 38. It is quite expensive but boy, is it worth it! Oh, and there is also a local distillery of whiskey which goes with the beef like the best marriage in the world! :D Our original reason for visiting was to see Tropical Island – and yes, it is very nice – but we found so many things to see and do in this beautiful area that we will surely be back there soon to explore the Unterspreewald region :)
