Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Quiet residential location about 15 minutes walk from the town square. Host, Liliana, was extremely responsive and helpful. Washing machine was a bonus as we desperately needed to do laundry. Comfortable beds. Spacious and light filled.
Negative: We initially had problems with getting a hot shower. The trick, we learned, is to just barely turn on the hot water tap. We are regular gas stove users, however we were unable to light the gas cooktop so could not use the stove. In hindsight, we should have asked for a demonstration upon check in. WiFi connectivity is spotty, particularly in the living/ dining area. Not a negative for us, but be aware that the walk into town is a hilly one. And, the apartment is on the 3rd floor accessible by stairs only. Would not recommend this apartment for the mobility challenged. Finally, the apartment was difficult for our tuk-tuk driver to find, and we ended up on foot following our intuition and recall from looking at a previous map. It may be helpful to note that the apartment is in a newer residential complex called Rio Piedra.
Summary: Worth the effort to get here. Overall, despite our challenges, we enjoyed our stay in Jerico.
