Positive: If you're looking for a fancy, comfortable place to stay in Sumatra, this probably ain't it. This is one of those places that grows in your heart for the people that are in there. They are all so welcoming and humble, and they make you feel at home right from the start. It's also a chill environment, good for families, couples, solo travellers, and small groups. The food is quite good, Indonesian traditional, always different - and the kitchen ladies are adorable. The location is perfect, right in front of the beach. Arrive with an open heart and mind, and you'll enjoy it very much.

Negative: We arrived late at night and were quite convinced that we'd change hotels in the next day... the cabin looked quite old, the doors were noisy and needed adjustments, the bed was not so comfortable and also very noisy with every move, and the bathroom was, well, bad - open to the outside (what makes it the perfect place for lots of lizards, spiders and mosquitoes), the shower water is not so warm, and the shower it self could be better. We decided to give it a chance and stay, for all the reasons mentioned above, and eventually forgot about these problems, and enjoyed the place as it was. Nevertheless, the place needs a deep cleaning, especially in the common areas where we eat and play snooker (the water dispensers are really dirty, for example). With love, this place could really be improved, like it probably was when it was first built, and hopefully, it will.
